DNA Test Through 23 and Me

23 and Me gave virtually the same results as my Ancestry test did in the beginning before they updated it.

Here are the results.

British & Irish 60.6% (United Kingdom and County Cork)
French & German 24.3%
Broadly North West Europe 12.1%
Scandinavian 2.0%
Native American .2%

1920 - 1890  British & Irish
1890 - 1830  French & German
1800 - 1680  Scandinavian
1770 - 1680  Native American

Through family history I did know about the French/German connection as my Maternal Grandfather's family came from there to Cornwall. 

Scandinavia has also shown up in my family tree going back through my Maternal line via only the females.  I have been tracing the female line only myself.

I suspect that the Native American if true could have been a female relative brought from the Americas by one of the Scandinavian sailors, as his wife, that landed there in that time.

Lol.  Yup, but then I was expecting that.

I'm surprised about the Native American though, and strongly suspect that because there is so little DNA there that it's probably more Asian.  The Native Americans going way, way back were of the Asian line of the Jews that migrated from the Middle East

I get my skin colour from that particular part of my DNA, I think, which is the darkest in our fair skinned family.

How interesting.

I may take this test as well
and see if I get the same answers as the ancestry test.
