Getting Notifications In the Menu but Not By Email

I've only just discovered how to do this.

I want notifications in the dropdown menu but do not want to receive an email each time.

Up until now I have been manually having to tick to allow notifications in the dropdown menu at the top of the board every time I post, even though in my notifications setting I do have it set to notify me, as each time I post the default is set to off.

However I very seldom remember to tick that and therefore am not getting notifications.

I have been trying this last half hour to figure out how to set it for all posts to default to notify me in the dropdown menu but not email me.

This is how it's done.

1)  Click to edit profile

2)  Go to Preferences and tick all that you want notification of (These all say notify you by email, but you can ignore that.

3)  Go to Notifications and untick everything that you don't want to notify you by email in the email column.  Tick all that you want in the dropdown menu by way of notification in the Tool Bar Column.

From then on when you make a post the "Notify me when a reply is posted" will be defaulted to Yes.  You can untick that in any post you make if you don't want notification of a specific one.

Oh I didn't realise you didn't know about this Sandy as I would have told you about it.

I hate getting email notifications as I'm inundated with emails as it is.

It's dumb how it's set out.  Like me many people would tick on the page to say no to emails.  But on the other page they would be ticking to get on board notifications.  But if you don't make the first tick, you don't get notified on the board either.

Crazy set up.

I've also change it for me on your board now too.  Now I will get all notifications on board over on yours as well.

yeah it's rather confusing how they've done this I agree.
