Should an Owner have "Owner" as a Rank

When you go to a new board, do you like to see who the owner is before you join.

Therefore do you think the owner should have "Owner" as a rank or should an owner just seem like any other poster with their rank, or maybe you might think "Admin" might be more appropriate?

I like to know who the owner is, mostly in case there is an issue where I might need some help with something, I'd know who to contact

yes, I would like to see who the owner is, it also pins them as admin as well as host as well.

Not seeing who the owner is is like wonder who is managing the store you're shopping at.

I have to admit that one of the first things I do when landing on the board is to see who the owner is and then have a read of a few of their posts to get an idea of them, if you know what I mean.

I do too. If the board owner has any kind of flexible personality, he or she may give the title that they are the owner, but they don't act like they are lording it over everyone that posts there. The board owners that I frequent are all very nice people.

For a long time I just had my title as Admin simply for the reason you state above. I didn't want people to think that I was territorial if you know what I mean. But then I thought how one of the first things I do when visiting a board is that I want to know who owns it, so changed mine to Owner a while ago now.

I use "Owner" instead of admin. I have it as a "virtual" cafe and so I use staff, owner, manager -- and for the members, I use Patrons -- or for lurkers "guests" -- anyway, I think it is important in case there are problems. Then people know where to direct their issues too.

I like the use of the word Patron for your "Cafe"

I think Becky is the only one I have seen that uses "patron."
