This is built with the same type of phpbb coding that Tapatalk is but it's Forumotion.com but we have totally access to all html, css and would you believe javascript.

The features they have given us are amazing. They seem to have thought of everything.

I love this system as much as I ever did Yuku, and that's saying something.

I also believe this system is safe from a Crowdgather/Tapatalk takeover, which is another reason I chose it.

How do we get started on here as TapaTalk/Yuku isn't really interested in helping us over there just, left us in the lurch and we have to start all over again (which I'm not interested in doing as not tech savvy)

If you mean get started building a forum.  Go to https://www.forumotion.com/ and follow the instructions.

At some point you will be asked which style of board you want.  There will be a choice of four.

I would suggest the phpbb2 as it's easy to customise and gives a great professional look.  But if at some point you want to try out the other styles of coding it easy to switch in the settings.

Also you can change the url if you first pick one you don't like.

Now once you have created a board you also get free image hosting.  This is on https://servimg.com/

Once there you log in with the same username and password as your board.

On there you will find you start with a "Root" folder but you can add as many as you like.

Anything you put in the "Root folder" you can also get access to in the board setting of skin customisation.

At the bottom of my board I have forums for board owners to help with coding and finding ones way around the settings.

Any questions you have about any of that you can use that parent forum for your questions and I will do my best to help.

Hey, don't worry about it. I started off thick too, lol.

But don't worry too much about it because the wysiwyg editor on here is bloody fantastic. You only have to add any coding for fancy stuff which you can break in gently for that.

I honestly wont mind how many questions you ask.

Ummm.  Martha had trouble like that.

Did you get an email and did you click to activate?

Did you accidentally use a cap letter in the password?

Did you have your caps on by accident?

If you still have trouble you might be able to ask for a password reminder.  That way you can reset it.

Or refresh the board and you might find you are actually already signed in.

Although if I remember when you first sign up you username is Admin and you have to change it once logged in.

Try that.

Tried that... it's a bugger and... I can't start a new page with the same name...aghhhhh

Sent a email to the contact board and will just have to wait till they get back after checking the sign up!

OK, dumped that one and opened WooHoo http://the-rockpool.forumotion.com Now I'm looking at a skin but.. they are mostly Dark Buggers (Goth) that do theses skins :-) Found only on about the sea but don't know if I can change it around to suit myself?

Have a go as using the one the board came with and then go into Themes Management which will bring up that skin to play with.

Then on the left in the side bar play with the colours and pic management.  You will then be able to add your own images etc.

Oh yes, and the secret to finding out what is what. If when changing the colours you don't know what it does, use an orange first. See where that orange shows up and then you can change it to the colour you want.

Orange is #ff9900

Hiya Warren/ Mudcrabs nice to see you here too. I remember you from Yuku boards.

I've had a few problems when I first started on my board here and it takes some time to get used to everything here but like Sandy said; we have access to everything, unlike stupid TT.

Woops I forgot to mention that it was bwayne -aka Kay and I that helped you out with your last skin for your yuku board

I'm pretty sure I still have the images for that skin.

Will try and start soon but, off to Bali on Thursday and in between I have to get a Date Palm throng out of my leg.. got it Yesterday and I can hardly walk

Bit of a bugger about the date palm though. Keep your eye out for infection.

Was sent to the Hospital and a surgeon sad as it was in the muscle they didn't want to probe around to much before the Holidays as it was small and looking for the needle in the Hay stack, I could have suffered while on Holiday.
