| I love that too. I haven't seen it again for years. I used to love all of Judy Garland's films.
My favourite Christmas one is Miracle on 34th Street. And of course Scrooge. I watch them both every year. |

| I love "Miracle" and love many of the Scrooge versions. Which is your favorite, Sandy? Many love Alastair, but I also loved George C. Scott and even the older version in 1938. I also love "It's A Wonderful Life." |

| I think the Alastair Sim 1951 version was the most brilliantly portrayed and also acted. But my favourite I suppose would have to be the 1999 one with Patrick Stewart. Although I did also love the Albert Finney musical.
There have been some real fun modern ones too, like Scrooged. I loved that one. |

| I watched the most ridiculous, so called Christmas film, on tele the other day.
It was on the Christmas channel that they bring out every year, and the films on that are always sentimental, romatic or just great fun. But this one the right up for it was..... An old man finds love at Christmas.
So it starts by watching this old man getting dressed in the morning and going off to work in a sort of supermarket. He is quite doddery and not perfectly with it, and you wonder why the young manager not only keeps him on but actually likes him alot as an employee.
Then you see an old lady and her Daugher move in opposite the old boy.
The old man goes off to work but when he leaves he leaves his front door wide open. When he comes home he finds the old lady in his house. We have already seen her go into his bathroom and check out his medicine cabinet on the wall, get out his one pot of pills, count them and put them back.
He is distressed to find her in his house but she explains she thought there might be something wrong as his door was open so she had come in to check. Just as she was leaving she asks him if he would like to take her to dinner the next night.
They have several dates and the old lady's Daughter is worried about this, asking her Mother if she is doing the right thing. The old girl says yes, she knows what she is doing and is going to carry on seeing the fella.
They finally get close enough for her to start staying over with him.
We then see the old boy doze off in the chair and when he wakes up he panics because the woman is missing and the house is empty. He is frantic, trying to ring her, worrying in case she has left him, ending with him hysterical and crying.
On a knock at the door he opens it and she is there. "Where have you been" he says, "I was so worried" - "Don't you remember" she says "I told you I had to pop out and we said goodby" - He still hasn't calmed down. But he starts to notice the photos on the wall, and sees photos of him with the old lady, and him and her with her daughter and the supermarket manager.
In all this mental anguish the old lady is saying to him, take one of your pills. As she is trying to get him to take a pill, the Daughter and the supermarket manager come in the front door looking really worried.
The old boy collapses and passes out as his world seems to be crashing in on him. He is then rushed to hospital.
The viewer then realises that he is suffering from Altzeimers and the old lady is his wife, and the other two are their Son and Daughter. We find out she had to move in with her Daughter opposite because he had no longer recognised her and had thrown her out of the house as an intruder. Neither did he recognise the shop manager as his son but only as his boss.
You then realise why she was checking his pills. She was making sure he was taking them every day.
So the woman had started the relationship again anew as if they had never met, so he had fallen in love with her all over again and she could keep a close eye on him.
The film ended with him in hospital and her promising to love him to the end.
Bloody stupid film to call a Christmas film. Bloody stupid film anyway. So slow and so depressing. I only kept watching it because one assumed that it was going to have a happy ending. |

| I know. It was crazy to keep watching, but it was one of those films that you continue watching because you really need to know the end because you want to see the whole point of it, and it will end happily. Before I posted this I looked up the plot on the internet and found this "Lovely Still" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1150947/reviewsPeople are giving it terrific reviews. Maybe I would have done too if it hadn't been cast as a Christmas film and on the Christmas channel. |

I love it too Becky. The clothes the 2 lead actresses wear are gorgeous. I never tire of this movie. |

| I adore the songs from that movie. I do so love a musical. Plus Bing Crosby is one of my all time favourite crooners. |
